From Uni to Industry: Tech in WA

If you're studying tech but don't yet know which role you want or which companies even exist in Perth, this was the night for it. Breaking into tech isn't really about picking the right major — it's about understanding where the industry is heading and positioning yourself before you graduate.

We ran it with Venture UWA and brought in four people running teams across WA's tech ecosystem. No generic advice: the panel covered which roles are actually growing in WA, what employers look for beyond a GPA, how to stand out through projects, hackathons and leadership, and how to shape a degree intentionally even while you're still figuring it out.
