AI Safety Evening

Ever wondered how we make sure AI doesn't go off the rails? This was an evening on AI safety: what the field actually is, who's working in it, and how a student gets involved.

We ran it with Effective Altruism UWA, and pitched it at everyone — people already deep in ML and people who are just AI-curious. The point was less to settle the question than to show that there's real work here and real ways in.

We run these because engaging critically with the technology is part of the club's remit, not a footnote to it. Building things and asking what they do are the same job.
